Global Nonviolence Organization Calls for De-escalation in Iran and Prioritizing Peaceful Dialogue
The Global Nonviolence Organization Freemuslim is closely and cautiously monitoring recent developments in the Islamic Republic of Iran, including the protests that reflect the scale of living hardships and economic pressures faced by citizens.
From its humanitarian and human rights responsibility, the organization fully recognizes that the right to express oneself and to demand a dignified life is a right guaranteed by divine teachings and international conventions. At the same time, it warns against slipping into chaos, which serves only the enemies of peoples.
Guidance and Appeals by the Organization:
• To the dear people of Iran:
We appeal to you to preserve the peaceful nature of the movement and not to be drawn into calls for violence or armed confrontation. The strength of legitimate demands lies in their legality and peaceful character. We therefore urge everyone to protect public and private property, as it belongs to the people and represents national assets that must not be subjected to destruction or arson, as such acts strip just demands of their humanitarian substance.
• To the Iranian authorities:
We call on the Iranian government to exercise the utmost restraint and to protect unarmed civilians from any harm. Repression breeds nothing but explosion. The only path to stability is to listen seriously to the legitimate demands of the people, to work immediately to improve living and economic conditions, to provide the means for a dignified livelihood, and to open genuine channels of dialogue with all segments of society.
• Rejection of external interference:
The organization stresses the necessity of respecting state sovereignty and rejecting any external intervention that seeks to exploit people’s suffering to inflame internal strife. It emphasizes that the solution must be “Iranian–Iranian,” emerging from within and prioritizing the interests of the citizen above all else.

The shedding of even a single drop of blood is a great loss. Protecting human dignity and building the land are the goals at which the will of both the authorities and the people must meet alike.
