Freemuslim Director Visits Ahmadiyya Mubarak Mosque
The director of Freemuslim, Moujtaba Akhwand, recently visited the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Mubarak Mosque in Chantilly Virginia to attend Sirat-un-Nabi, an event centered on the life, character, and teachings of the Prophet of Islam, peace be upon him, and his progeny. The gathering highlighted universal values drawn from the Prophet’s life, including compassion, justice, and service to humanity. Mr. Akhwand expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by members of the mosque’s management and stated that he was honored to engage in meaningful dialogue during the visit.
During his visit and in conversation with the honorable management of the Mosque, Mr. Akhwand emphasized the importance of diversity within society and the ability of people to put aside differences in order to work collectively toward a more prosperous future. He noted that faith should serve as a source of strength that uplifts individuals, improves society, and fosters unity, rather than creating division or an “us versus them” mentality. The focus, he stated, must remain on shared values and common humanity.
Ahmadiyya community have faced persecution in several parts of the world, including Pakistan, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, and Egypt. Freemuslim’s presence at such event reflects its broader commitment to peaceful coexistence and dialogue. In a separate statement, Freemuslim reaffirmed that it advocates for the rights of all individuals regardless of gender, faith, or religious affiliation, underscoring the necessity of recognizing commonalities rather than differences.
With years of advocacy at the United Nations as an independent organization holding ECOSOC status, Freemuslim continues to work tirelessly to bridge gaps between people of different faiths and nationalities. Through combined efforts and principled engagement, the organization believes true and lasting peace can be achieved. Freemuslim remains steadfast in its hope and prayers that all communities feel included in society and will continue advancing toward greater milestones in building peaceful, just, and inclusive societies for all.
