Statement by the Freemuslim Association – International Organization for Non-Violence
Addressed to the Member States of the United Nations Security Council and the Leaders of the International Community
Subject: An Urgent Appeal to Halt Global Escalation and Restore the Principles of International Peace
The Freemuslim Association – International Organization for Non-Violence has followed with profound concern and sorrow the accelerating deterioration of international peace and security, as well as the continued descent into armed conflicts that threaten what remains of global human stability.
In light of its humanitarian and moral responsibility, the Organization issues this urgent appeal to all influential parties, calling for the immediate and comprehensive cessation of all forms of military and political escalation.
First: The Middle East — From Iran to Sudan: A Bleeding Region That Must Be Saved
The Middle East is currently experiencing an unprecedented state of instability that threatens severe social and economic collapse. This alarming situation demands immediate international action beginning with the following priorities:
De-escalation with Iran
The prioritization of diplomatic dialogue and equitable negotiations remains the only viable path to preventing a devastating regional war from which no nation would emerge unharmed.
Ending Israeli Military Actions in Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria
The Organization strongly condemns the continuation and escalation of Israeli military operations, which constitute one of the gravest threats and most dangerous triggers for a comprehensive regional conflict. The ongoing massacres against civilians in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, the repeated violations of Lebanese sovereignty and attacks on its towns, and the continued strikes on Syrian territory represent flagrant breaches of international and humanitarian law.
We affirm that no genuine stability or peace can be achieved in the region without an immediate and comprehensive cessation of these attacks, an end to the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people, and full respect for the sovereignty of neighboring states. The continued reliance on excessive force will yield nothing but further destruction, hostility, and instability.
Saving Sudan
Sudan is enduring a catastrophic humanitarian disaster as a result of the ongoing armed conflict. We call for an immediate ceasefire, the protection of civilians, the establishment of secure humanitarian corridors, and a return to a peaceful democratic transition process.
Addressing Political Tensions
Sustainable peace cannot be achieved without confronting the root causes of chronic political crises throughout the region and pursuing solutions founded upon justice, the rights of peoples to self-determination, and the universal right to live in peace and security.
Second: The Russian–Ukrainian War
Consistent with our unequivocal rejection of all wars, we renew our call for an end to the Russian–Ukrainian war, which has entered a dangerous phase of human and economic attrition while threatening global food security and energy stability.
The insistence on military resolution will lead only to further humanitarian tragedy. A lasting solution can emerge solely through peaceful means that uphold international law and guarantee the security and dignity of all parties involved.
Reminder of the Responsibility of the United Nations Security Council
In light of this grave international reality, the Freemuslim Association – International Organization for Non-Violence finds it necessary to remind the United Nations Security Council of the legal and moral responsibilities for which it was established in 1945.
The supreme purpose of the Security Council is the maintenance of international peace and security, the protection of future generations from the scourge of war, and the reinforcement of justice, coexistence, and tolerance.
The Council’s present inability to fulfill these responsibilities — due to political polarization and the misuse of veto power in pursuit of narrow national interests — represents a serious setback for the international system of collective action.
Accordingly, we call upon the member states of the Security Council to:
- Rise above political divisions and place the higher interests of humanity above all competing agendas.
- Activate preventive diplomacy and mediation mechanisms to resolve conflicts before they escalate further.
- Adopt decisive and binding measures to end destructive wars and safeguard innocent human lives.
Conclusion
The Organization reaffirms that non-violence is not a secondary option, but rather the final remaining path for the preservation of human existence and civilization.
Wars do not create lasting victory; they merely sow the seeds of future conflicts. The time has come for the language of weapons to fall silent and for the language of reason, justice, and peace to prevail.
