The Nigerian government has confirmed that 110 girls are missing after suspected Boko Haram militants attacked a school in the northeast of the country last week. On Feb. 19, armed insurgents attacked the Government Science and Technical College in the town of Dapchi in Yobe state and have abducted at least 110 school girls.
We strongly condemn the inhumane acts of terror done by Boko Haram, classify such acts as Un-Islamic. Terrorizing people not only does not help in bringing harmony and peace to the region; it only increases insecurity and fear among Nigerian citizens.
We ask the United Nations affiliated entities and Nigerian statesmen to reassure Nigerians the international community will not stand silent in dealing with tragedies like this.
