In addressing women rights in each society requires changes and reform on different levels of society, and Judicial Reform is one of the reforms that may work in certain countries, and may not be applicable in some other countries due to lack of resources or other health priorities in achieving women rights.

According to a research done by Dr. Jennifer F. Klot, titled Women and Peace Building she elaborates on Judicial Reform; “Increasing women’s access to justice requires legal reforms that bringformal and traditional justice systems into conformity with human rights norms andstandards. Ending gender discrimination requires technical support for enactingconstitutional, legislative, electoral, judicial reforms, and the reform of military codes.”

“Increasing women’s legal literacy and aid, monitoring and reporting women’s human rightsviolations, ensuring reparations and restitution for women, and training and capacity buildingfor gender justice must also be central to reform efforts. Constructing special courtrooms andprisons for women, and providing necessary office equipment and translation services arenecessary starting points. Drawing from experiences in India, Fiji, the United States,Australia, Scotland and elsewhere, consideration should be given to establishing specialcourts to try sexual and gender based crimes and relieve the backlog of cases. Lessonsshould also be learned from recent experiences in Liberia, Sierra Leone, India, Peru, and Brazil on the establishment of specialized police stations for women, and theestablishment of hospital police.”

Holy Qur’an elaborates on equality between women and men and the need for diversity in nations:

“O mankind! We created you from a male and female and made you intonations and tribes, that you may know each other, verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you” 50:13

At Freemuslim, we promote healthy coexistence between people of all nations, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, faith or ideology, and see the diversity between nations as an opportunity given to us as human beings to get to know what other cultures and traditions as a humbling life lesson, and we emphasize the importance of dialogue between people who may disagree on faith, ideology, or belief.

Dialogue reduces the misunderstandings, and often simple misunderstandings are reasons relations are limited and in some countries, tribal wars overtake logic and need for coexistence.
