Targeting of the Holy Sites

The Freemuslim Center for De-radicalization and Extremism Prevention follows with grave concern and strong condemnation the news and reports concerning the alleged attack targeting the holy lands of Mecca and Medina, including the two Holy Mosques, which represent the birthplace of revelation and a sanctuary of security and peace for Muslims and humanity as a whole.

This alleged attack constitutes a blatant violation of religious sanctities, international norms, and fundamental human values, as well as a serious affront to the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.

Freemuslim Center for De-radicalization and Extremism Prevention emphasizes the following:

  • Absolute Condemnation: We strongly condemn any act intended to undermine security and stability in the holy sites.
  • Establishment of an Impartial Investigative Committee: We urgently call for the formation of an independent and impartial international and Islamic investigative committee, comprising objective experts and representatives, to uncover the full truth and circumstances surrounding these allegations, without concealment or ambiguity.
  • Identification of Those Responsible: We call upon the relevant authorities to identify any individuals or entities who may have planned or carried out such acts, if established, and to make the findings known to the local and international public.
  • Justice and Accountability: We stress the necessity of referring all individuals found to have been involved or negligent, should the allegations be substantiated, to fair and public judicial proceedings so that they may face appropriate accountability. Human life and religious sanctities are red lines that must never be compromised.

The Freemuslim Center for De-radicalization and Extremism Prevention, guided by its humanitarian and Islamic mission advocating peace and rejecting violence and terrorism in all their forms, calls upon international organizations, the governments of the Islamic world, and people of conscience everywhere to unite and work together to ensure that the full truth is revealed and that religious sanctities are protected from the dangers of extremism and terrorism.
